Nokia cannot patent the default SMS tone in their phones

The default SMS tone is bip-bip-bip beeep-beeep bip-bip-bip.
Let’s modify that a bit : dot-dot-dot dash-dash dot-dot-dot.
Looks familiar? Ok, you can stop racking your brain. It is Morse code for S-M-S.
And that’s why nokia cannot patent it. They might try though and hopefully some alert patent examiner rejects it.

Star Cricket

OMG, a whole damn channel just for cricket, which is unfortunately the (unofficial) national sport in India. It bugs me to no end, to see the damn logo on the side of my TV screen. I wish that i could wish it away. Where are those damn genies when you need them?

With a tip of the hat to JK Rowling, i have renamed the following :

• Cricket – The sport that must not be named
• Star Cricket – The channel that must not be named
• Aila (aka Sachin T.) – He who must not be named

(I can’t claim credit for the last one though. This was the product of a ’sport that must not be named’-fan friend of mine.)
